Course Type

Equipment operating.

Course Purpose

  • This course is for a worker whom is experienced and competent with operating an Overhead Crane.
  • This course does not include Rigging training.

Skill Level

Experienced Operator.

Training Method

In-person.

Class Size

2 - 10 students.

Training Duration

4 - 8 hours (depending on student's skill and knowledge).

Training Locations

  1. Calgary Region: In-person training at the customer's workplace.
  2. Metro-Vancouver Region: In-person training at the customer's workplace.

Customer Requirements

Customer supplied crane and load for practical lessons.

Student Requirements

  1. Has a training certificate that is current, or has just expired within 30 days from the expiry date shown on the certificate.
  2. Wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (provided by student):
    1. PPE as per the training location requirements.
    2. Safety boots, hard hat, high visibility vest/jacket/overall.

Training Certification

Digital training card as proof of training, includes hyperlinked class photos and course material. Valid for 3 years.

  • Private Group Rate: $1,200.00 (4 students) + $200.00 per additional student.

  3. Operator responsibilities.

Documentation Lessons

  1. Completing a Hazard & Risk Assessment.
  2. Completing a pre-use inspection checklist.
  3. Completing a Lift Plan.

Practical Lessons

  1. Inspecting the Overhead Crane components.
  2. Operating the Overhead Crane.
  3. Locking out the Overhead Crane.
  4. Hand signals.
  5. Practical lifting of loads.
