Course Type

Equipment operating.

Course Purpose

This course is for a student whom is experienced and competent with operating a Powered Pallet Jack (Industrial Lift Truck - Class 3).

Skill Level

Experienced Operator.

Training Method

In-person.

Class Size

2 - 10 students.

Training Duration

4 - 8 hours (depending on student's skill and knowledge).

Training Locations

  1. Calgary Region: In-person training at the customer's workplace.
  2. Metro-Vancouver Region: In-person training at the customer's workplace.

Customer Requirements

Customer supplied equipment and load for practical lessons.

Student Requirements

  1. Has a training certificate that is current, or has just expired within 30 days from the expiry date shown on the certificate.
  2. Wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (provided by student):
  1. PPE as per the training location requirements.
  2. Safety boots, hard hat, high visibility vest/jacket/overall.

Training Certification

Digital training card as proof of training, includes hyperlinked class photos and course material. Valid for 3 years.

Theory Lessons

  2. Reference to applicable CSA Standards.
  3. Operator responsibilities.

Practical Lessons

  1. Inspecting the Powered Pallet Jack and surrounding work area.
  2. Safe load securement.
  3. Attaching and removing lifting accessories.
  4. Charging the battery pack.

  • Lift Code 1. Electric motor hand trucks: low lift platform.
  • Lift Code 2. Electric motor hand trucks: low lift walkie pallet.
  • Lift Code 3: Electric motor hand trucks: tractors.
  • Lift Code 4: Electric motor hand trucks: low lift walkie/center control.
  • Lift Code 5: Electric motor hand trucks: reach type outrigger.
  • Lift Code 6: Electric motor hand trucks: high lift straddle, single face pallet, high lift platform.
  • Lift Code 7: Electric motor hand trucks: high lift counterbalanced.
  • Lift Code 8: Electric motor hand trucks: low lift walkie/rider pallet and end control.
